Purple Moon Naturals by Natural Joy Beauty {Review}

If you are anything like me, you spend a lot of time online or at the store reading the ingredient lists of makeup and hair/skin/body care. Taking the time to read what you’re putting on your skin is definitely worth the hassle, but sometimes it can be just plain tiresome! Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could go to a store and not have to worry about reading labels? You could just buy whatever looked interesting! Well, I believe I have found that store.

There is no physical location…at least, not yet! They have plans to open up a permanent storefront this year, BUT until then http://www.naturaljoybeauty.com/ is an online retailer that specializes in 100% natural products. Phenoxyethanol, sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrances, propylene glycol, and phtalates are just a few of the many nasty ingredients you won’t in anything sold by Natural Joy Beauty. They carry well known brands like Badger and Gabriel-Zuzu Luxe, but they also offer a wide variety of Indie brands, such as Purple Moon Naturals. Joy Wicks, founder and curator of Natural Joy Beauty, wants to get the word out about Purple Moon Naturals, and kindly sent me two of their products:

Lemongrass & Tea Tree Deodorant and 100% Cupuacu Butter.

I have been using the deodorant for about two weeks, and let me tell you, IT WORKS! It smells fantastic and keeps me smelling lemon-y fresh 😉 It’s definitely on my repurchase list, but I did have one issue with it. I am not a fan of the packaging. The twister on the bottom of the bottle always sticks, and, no matter what I do, chunks of deodorant always end up stuck on the rim. It works so well, though, that I learned to get over the packaging issue! They have some other scents available, including Citrus Bliss…which sounds WONDERFUL.

Now, onto the cupuacu butter…and please do not ask me how to pronounce that, because I, honestly, couldn’t tell you. But I can tell you what it IS. It is made from the cupuacu fruit, a tropical fruit related to cacao. The butter smells like a mixture of cocoa butter and coffee. It’s a little hard to scoop out of the jar, but it does wonders for cracked skin. I’ve also heard it can be used to make white chocolate, so maybe I’ll give that a try.

Big Thanks Again to Joy for sending me these 🙂 Go to NaturalJoyBeauty.com to find awesome natural products from companies like Purple Moon Naturals!
