PASCHA {REVIEW}

“All you need is love, but a little chocolate now & then doesn’t hurt.”

-Charles M. “Sparky” Schulz

Amen, Charlie, Amen! I am a chocoholic in every sense of the word. I’m pretty sure it’s a genetic thing. My Grammy is beyond obsessed with chocolate….so much so, that, as a child, my mother thought chocolate was the only available flavor of pudding and that ice cream only came in rocky road. See, guys? Chocolate is in my veins! Sadly, most conventional chocolate is filled with high fructose corn syrup, chemicals, preservatives, and artificial flavors & dyes. YUCK!  Chocolate doesn’t sound as yummy now, does it? Well, have no fear, Pascha is here. Pascha Organic Chocolate, that is.

Pascha was created by Simon Lester, a man with lots of chocolate experience and two daughters with severe food allergies. Pascha is free of the eight common allergens, and is made in a completely dedicated facility. So, EVERYONE can enjoy it! Did I mention Pasha is also vegan, kosher, non GMO, & fair trade? So, yes, I meant it when I said EVERYONE can enjoy it.

That’s why I was so happy to get in contact with Pascha’s virtual project coordinator, Kate Hufnagel. I was sweetly sent a full size dark bar and a bag of baking chips.

As some of you may or may not know, true dark chocolate usually possesses one of three undertones: coffee, mesquite, and berry. Pascha is a clear possessor of a mesquite undertone. I am usually not a fan of mesquite chocolate, but Pascha was a big exception to this rule. The mesquite notes weren’t overpowering. They weren’t overly savory. The entire experience was quite balanced, actually. The best way to describe Pascha, in my opinion, would be, a true dark chocolate with just a hint of sweetness. The bar was slightly less sweet then the chips, as the cacao content was around 20% more in the bar. Overall, though, the flavors of the two products were essentially the same.

Pascha Chocolate has an excellent texture…creamy, but with a nice snap!

Pascha Organic Chocolate is definitely worth giving a try, especially if you or a loved one suffers from any food allergies. Because EVERYONE deserves a treat 🙂
