So, onto the main event: Sunbutter brand sunflower seed butter.
SunButter sent me a jar of their “No Sugar Added” sunflower seed butter. The butter is made on a completely gluten, peanut, and tree nut free facility. The only ingredients are sunflower seeds and salt. Great, right?!
To get a true “feel” for this product, I used it in several different ways. I ate with a spoon, put it on a brown rice cake, and even made these delicious Sunbutter cookies:
SunButter is slightly thicker and stickier in consistency than peanut butter. The taste is quite strong & robust, but not in a negative way. The butter truly does taste like sunflower seeds. It tasted great on my Lundberg brown rice cake, and it acted exactly like peanut butter in my cookies.
This is an AMAZING option for those with nut allergies, and is tasty enough to be enjoyed by even the nuttiest of us. I have tried other brands of sunflower seed butter, but found Sunbutter’s to have the best taste and consistency.
