Wonderfully Raw {REVIEW}

Today, I had the pleasure of sampling some healthy snacks from the company, Wonderfully Raw. Wonderfully Raw has three lines of snacks: CocoRoons, Brussel Bytes, and Snip Chips. The package I received included one each of Brussel Bytes & Snip Chips, and two flavors of CocoRoons, one mini & one regular. (*shoutout* to Toni Estrada for the generosity…woot woot!!!)

The Wonderfully Raw company produces their snacks in a dedicated gluten, grain, dairy, and soy free facility. In addition, their products are all 100% raw, vegan, refined sugar free, and low glycemic.

NOW…let’s break open this box!

Ingredients: parsnips, raw coconut, raw cashews, red bell pepper, coconut nectar, basil, rosemary, lemon juice, truffle oil, nutritional yeast, himalayan crystal salt

These Snip Chips had a great crunchy texture that was quite reminiscent of a good potato chip. Initially, you get the slight sweetness of the coconut, but an overall smokey, mildly spicy taste hits you at the back. This particular flavor had a strong yeasty, truffley taste. I think most people would enjoy the texture, but I believe less people would enjoy the taste. I, personally, liked the taste, but the notes that truffle and nutritional yeast bring can be polarizing. You either love it, or hate it. Overall, I think these are a great, crunchy snack.

Ingredients: brussels sprouts, raw cashews, raw pumpkin seeds, kale, tamari, coconut nectar, carrots, raw coconut, cilantro, onion, garlic, apple cider vinegar, cumin, chipotle

I was quite surprised by just how much I liked these. To be honest, I really don’t like brussel sprouts, but I thought these Brussel Bytes were fantastic. The texture is almost identical to that of a kale chip, but these hold their shape slightly more. They have an initial crunch, but a pleasantly soft, delicate follow through. I sensed little to no brussel sprout or kale aftertaste. If you’re not used to eating healthy, unprocessed foods, or you have a sensitive palate, you might taste it more, but I, personally, did not. The medley of spices in this product harmonized extremely well. You have an initial, moderate spice, with a warm, smokey follow through. The flavor profile is very Indian. Indian food is my absolute favorite, so I was a big fan of these.

COCOROONS: Brownie and Mini Lemon Pie

Ingredients (Brownie): dried unsweetened coconut, almond flour, cacao, unfiltered maple syrup, cold-pressed coconut oil, vanilla extract,himalayan crystal salt

Ingredients (Lemon Pie): dried unsweetened coconut, almond flour, unfiltered maple syrup, cold-pressed coconut oil, lemon zest, vanilla extract, himalayan crystal salt

CocoRoons are a delicious, guilt free treat. They’re moist, but maintain their shape. They have the nice, textural element of shredded coconut, but are not gritty. If you no someone who doesn’t like these…they’re probably lying LOL!

The Brownie flavor is fudgey and decadent. It’s sweet, but not cloyingly so. It definitely aligns more with dark chocolate than milk chocolate, which I appreciate. The cocoa flavor is rich and warm, but not bitter. If you like chocolate, of any sort, you’ll like this!

Lemon Pie has a very strong, but not over powering, initial lemon taste. The lemon taste is natural and vibrant, not heavy and chemical-esque. These have a quite strong aftertaste of vanilla, but the vanilla isn’t bitter or alcoholic. It adds a depth of flavor to the lemony snack. These are a bright, refreshing treat!

Wonderfully Raw is a great company, that makes snacks that are both nutritious and delicious. Go to their website mycocoroons.com to find out where to buy them near you.
